Media Club of Saraswati College of Engineering, provides coverage for all types of campus activities and events with the aim of fostering a media culture and aptitude among college students. The Club is also responsible for promoting SCOE using various media channels. The Club is mainly run by students as contributors of stories, photos, videos and newsworthy articles. Media Club provides students with the opportunity to express their ideas and talent through media, communication and journalism. The club promotes reading, critical thinking, analysis etc and trains students to produce newsletters, magazines, articles, etc
Club Structure
Each club elects a president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer, editor from among the students. A faculty member selected by the principal is the coordinator of the club. The main purpose of the Media Club is to give the opportunity to the students to be creative in media. Using media, they will collaborate together while getting hands-on experience. It enables students to know and avoid the negative impact of media on education and transform or change them into positive impact. SCOE makes sure that every detail and happenings of every event is captured and restored by the media club so that it is just as memorable as the day it happened
Objectives
The objective of the club is to provide a platform for the students to voice out their views, thoughts, opinions and perspectives. It helps them to enhance and develop their observation skills, encourage critical thinking and learn to be effective communicators. The club helps the students to develop skills to encourage the production of creative media messages and encourage students to express their feelings and thoughts through media messages. It also helps to build-up the basic knowledge in preparing programs in channels. The club encourages and boosts the budding artists to come forward and express themselves and to strive towards innovation and excellence in all dimensions of media and develop their channels of communication.
